Serving the Semiconductor Industry
About Ron Jones, CEO and Founder
Ron launched NGI in 1996 after spotting a gap in services available to meet a growing need for highly skilled and experienced resources across the burgeoning semiconductor industry. Located in Silicon Valley and with a strong technical acumen, Ron and his associates were able to deftly recruit seasoned talent for international clients.
In 2018, again based on technical insights, Ron observed a major information gap that was preventing consumers from understanding which companies were operating responsibility. He co-founded Responsible Brands Initiative, an industry association which serves as a catalyst for member companies to define “responsible” and recognize companies meeting specific criteria.
Prior to NGI, Ron was CEO of Thai Microsystems in Bangkok, President of Indy/Olin Interconnect Technologies in California, Corporate VP of Worldwide Operations/GM at Amkor Technologies in Korea and VP of Operations at RF Monolithics in Dallas. Ron also spent 15 years at Texas Instruments in various operational management positions.
As a recognized authority on the fabless and outsourced manufacturing business model, Ron chaired the GSA Business Management Systems Committee since its inception. For many years, Ron published a column that served-up industry insights for MEPTEC. He earned a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from University of California Berkeley and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
